stop doing #ALLTHETHINGS
I used to get mad at my hubby for not helping with the household chores. I did most of the dishes, laundry, and deep-cleaning the toilet and tub.
(Fun fact: I'm really good at cleaning the bathroom because it was my chore growing up. My sister's chore was vacuuming.)
The tipping point was when we finally sat down and realized that we defined cleaning differently.
Honestly, his definition of cleaning was “tidying up” and I understood cleaning as deep cleaning.
As soon as we discovered that mismatch I began to get clear and understand that he was just not going to give the same amount of elbow grease that was required to keep our house clean.
To help us through this issue, we hired a cleaning person.
Sally came once a month and it changed my life FOR-EVER.
That one shift has changed how I look at everything now.
I realized that I’ve always done better when I had support around me:
Personal trainers
Chiropractors
Therapists
Ayurvedic practitioners
Reiki + massage therapists
Acupuncturists
Business coaches
Career coach
Life coach
Birth and postpartum doulas
Postpartum chef
What I want you to get is that you don't have to do it alone.
Don’t be like me.
You don't have to be a martyr.
You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
You don't have to spend your time doing things that drain your energy.
It’s time to free up some time so that you get to do the things that you love.
My question for you is: what are some things that you can start delegating today?
I know, I know, I hear you saying it “I can’t afford that, Nic!”
Well then let’s get creative.
Do you have a friend that could do a trade?
Or a family member close by who can help?
And even if you can't afford it now, you can in the future!
Think about what you could do if you weren’t…
Going to the post office
Spending your Sunday’s meal prepping
Spending your Saturdays running errands and cleaning the house
Shopping for groceries and shampoo
Waiting on hold with the doctor, dentist, etc. etc.
Now that you have more time to spend with your loved ones and on things, you actually like doing… what will you delegate this weekend?
