happy 1st birthday to my business!
Gorgeous friend, I started coaching full-time last year because I wasn’t ready to leave my daughter for a job where I wasn't 100% committed.
(Honestly, there is nothing else I'd rather be doing when I'm away from her perfectness!)
This past year has been unbelievable because I’m finally inside of a wish I made when I switched my major from pre-vet to Family Social Sciences back at the University of Minnesota.
It's my purpose on this planet to make “hard things” (like career changes) feel easy, safe, and less lonely.
To help people remember who they are and what they’re here to do.
I desire to create flexibility in my life and continue to dismantle the racist, patriarchy practices we are now so clearly aware of at this time.
I wanted to create a way for women to feel confident in all areas of their lives and amplify both their joy and bank accounts.
I’m so proud of myself (which is definitely not something I would have said publicly last year) and am so so so grateful to the community I have cultivated around me (you!).
I was journaling last night in appreciation of everything I’ve done over the past year.
Do you create a ritual for big moments for yourself?
Tomorrow marks the ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY of my first paying client (thank you for your trust in me!).
Here’s the list of many other things I've been celebrating in my business since it all began last year.
Coached 22 clients this year (!!!)
Featured in two podcasts and one blog (more to come!!)
Started group coaching (my literal dream!)
Completed 100 lessons live on Instagram beginning in Feb. 2021
Launched my website all by myself
Hired an assistant
Hired eight coaches who I absolutely admire with my whole being to help me DO THE DAMN THING (one of whom I’ve been in awe of since seeing her speak in 2017 at a networking event)
Made unbelievable friends in my coaching programs
Threw myself an epic Zoom birthday party with a DJ
Integrated rest into my day so that I avoid burnout while building my empire
Created a way to log off mentally and stop thinking about my business when my workday ends
Learned how to more effectively ask for (and receive) help
Moved to a new apartment
Kept a toddler alive
Kept my hubby alive
Helped my hubby land a new job
Danced a lot
Cried even more
Curated a lavish nighttime ritual: bath or shower; Calm magnesium powder; reading my kindle (usually about 5 different books at a time); sleep story from Calm App or “Nothing Much Happens” on my noise canceling headphones
Began planning retreats for 2022!
The work I get to do every single day fills me with deep passion and I’m so grateful you are here with me.
To those of you who signed up for these emails in November, deepest bow to you. For those of you who just joined, THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. There is no way I could do this without you.
What’s a wish (or three) that you have been afraid of saying out loud? Message me and let me know.
To your inevitable success and joy!
—Nic
PS. This playlist is what I've been bopping to every morning when I make breakfast. And when doing dishes.
