MY next 100 days of NO MORE PLAYING SMALL

I have a confession to make.

I’ve been hiding.

I know, I know, you might be thinking, what do you mean Nic?

I see you sending emails, posting on social media, generally being radiant and awesome. 😉

Well, here’s the thing:

I have so much more to give.

I have so much more to tell you.

I have so much more to teach.

I have so much more deep inside me that needs to come out so I can serve my community fully.

But I’ve been afraid.

I’ve been taught to play small by past experiences, The Patriarchy, previous managers, my exes among other things.

Thank you, next.

I’m sure you know what I mean.

I keep coming back to Amanda Gorman’s poem from the Inauguration.

“If only we’re brave enough to see it”

Well thanks, Amanda, I’m seeing it. And it is scary.

And I’m filled with dread to be showing up in a bigger way.

“IF ONLY WE'RE BRAVE ENOUGH TO BE IT”

And, that's where I get the gut punch.

Because I see where I'm playing small and not being brave.

I can see it.

I now need to BE it.

So, my love, as February approaches, it’s time for me to be brave.

Bravery is about learning and unlearning.

And then taking action.

Even small actions.

As of today, I'm going to start taking action.

It's my turn to step up and BE IT.

For you, for our community, for the collective.

Because we rise together.

To hold myself accountable, I'll be joining The 100 Day Project and going LIVE on my new Instagram account: @yourcourageouscareer for 100 days.

I'm hash-tagging #100daysNMPS, which stands for 100 Days of No More Playing Small.

I need you to hold me accountable.

Please follow my progress and let me know what's working and what's not.

I'm quick to start things and not finish them.

I have lots of ideas that I don't complete.

(Sound familiar?)

Yet, after hearing what our new President Joe Biden has in store for his first 100 days, I’m inspired to know what’s possible for me if I can step out of my comfort zone.

I'm excited about this journey of learning, experimenting, and of course, having fun along the way with you.

I'm nervous in my gut just writing this, which means that my commitment to NO MORE PLAYING SMALL feels right and powerful.

Just so you know, I'll be sharing the following while I go live during #100daysNMPS:

  • Personal and Professional Development

  • Job Search Tips, Tricks, Hacks & Secrets

  • Mindfulness and other random things I practice to stay grounded in the chaos and uncertainty we’re feeling during the pandemic (and beyond)

Will you join me?

With deep love and courage,

Nicole
