Do this by Friday.
A few weeks ago I asked you if you wanted to rest until next year and I’m proud to say that many of you said yes.
With that being said, I wanted to invite you (even if you’re resting) to take a sacred gratitude pause and do this one thing before the new year.
This is for you if you are:
In love with your job
On a break from working (SAHM, layoffs, or otherwise)
In a love/hate relationship with your job
Interested in quitting your job tomorrow
Interviewing for a new job
Unsure of where to start a job search
Considering changing jobs, careers or industries
Going to change jobs at some point in the future
So this is what I recommend you to do this week!
Your 2022 self will be so thankful you did.
It’s simple.
Please think of three people you admire or haven’t connected with this year and send them a holiday email.
They can be anyone in your professional or personal network (think: mentors, coaches 😉 , professors, colleagues, friends, college roommates, yoga teachers, etc.).
Lucky you, I’ve made a template you can copy/paste.
And that’s it. Easy peasy.
Why do this?
Because it’s easy to write the rest of the year off right now. (And yes, please do that if it feels like the best and right thing for YOU to do.)
However, I would be remiss if I also didn’t tell you that it’s December and the market is hot right now because of The Great Reshuffle/Resignation/Realignment/Restructure/Redfining and companies want to fill roles before the year ends and definitely at the start of next year.
Right now, if you look around you will notice that:
❄️ Folks have more free time when offices begin to close for the New Year.
❄️ You can catch people in the holiday spirit.
❄️ People are craving nostalgic connections after two years of the pandemic still in progress. (← I just made this up but I think it’s true).
For no reason other than to spread joy to your network during this intense, confusing time.
They say giving really is better than receiving. And this is a no-cost way to uplift you and your network’s spirits.
Please reply and let me know when you send your emails and share how you feel afterward.
With love and holiday spirit,
Nic
PS. Having trouble thinking of someone or want to test it out on an easy win? I’m happy to be your guinea pig 😉 Here’s the template again.
PPS. This holiday song is perfection. You’re welcome.
