Blessings and gifts of 2021
For the past three months I’ve been leading a networking event during lunch for a group I’m volunteering for called Golden Gate Mothers Group.
I’ve been excited about this because I love networking and I’m really jazzed about it even during a virtual event.
If you’ve ever been to one of my events you’ve probably been blessed with breakout rooms where I get you to talk about personal stuff, not the boring questions like where do you live? What do you do for work?
I ask them questions like:
If you had a full day to spend on only things you love doing, what would you do?
Who is someone that has influenced you?
What would a perfect weekend or spa day look like for you?
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received or given?
And my favorite question:
What blessing or gift did you learn during the pandemic that you want to remember and take with you into your life?
The reason I love this question is because it speaks to what I love the most about the work I get to do with clients. It shows our values front and center.
They don’t say things like, wish I'd worked more; really miss that commute…
No, it’s more like:
I realized I want to spend more time with my family
I can slow down and be present with my children
I don't need to do everything
I can really connect with my family and friends who live far away in a way that I didn’t think was possible before now
And mine most recently is that the more I rest and slow down the better my family and business do.
So, as we near the end of the year and almost two years into the pandemic (which seems like it may go on for a while)...
What blessing or gift did you learn during the pandemic that you want to remember and take with you into your life?
Reply and let me know.
With love,
Nic
Ps. I just started thinking about and planning the Vision Board Party for 2022. Eeek!! I’m so excited! You’ll be the first to know when a date is set.
PPS. This was the best thing I read this weekend: Jennifer Aniston has no regrets and I have hostess with the most-ess envy.
